Does your mastiff work perfectly at home or when you have a treat, but lags and forgets how to heel when you go to a trial and put the food or toy away?
Or, do they behave well in the house, but if someone comes over, they are out of control? Learn the proper use of positive reinforcement at various competitive training levels and how to incorporate it into a balanced training program that will pay off in the ring and at home.
Chris Elliot will lecture and do hands on work on the various stages of training, and show you how to incorporate toys and treats into your training program without having your dog become dependent on the food.
She will also explain how corrections can be taught to a dog to make them try harder—rather than shut down. Chris’s techniques also will pay off for you if you do not compete, but need to learn to train your dogs to have better household manners.
